A change of season can bring a fresh start, and this month, we welcome autumn on September 22. I love Santa Barbara at this time of year. The summer vacation crowds are gone, the kids are back in school, and it’s time to prepare our homes for fall with candles, pillows, throws, and that cozy duvet cover you missed all summer long. Plus, from September 9 to the 11th, the Harvest Moon will light up the skies, marking the transition from summer into fall.
Here in Santa Barbara, our Mediterranean summer-like weather continues through the fall season with the perfect combination of warm days and cool nights. For lovers of premium Santa Barbara Wine, fall marks the beginning of harvest, when area winemakers are busy transforming the season’s bounty into heaven by the glass. Even more, there’s a plethora of things to do here in the fall, including:
Pop Up Opera
September 1 at Santa Barbara Museum of Art, 1130 State Street
SBMA has partnered with Opera Santa Barbara with a Pop Up Opera featuring a sampling of the season's art and music in the Museum's galleries. In September, enjoy a repertoire of music from around the globe, inspired by SBMA's current exhibition Going Global: Abstract Art at Mid-Century.
